In an assembly shortly before his passing, Shakyamuni Buddha held up a flower to his disciples and, without language or ritual, transmitted the essence of his teaching to Maha Kasyapa. This profound, formless teaching was then passed heart-to-heart from generation to generation before it reaches the Shifu of our generation, Chan Master Wujue Miaotian.
